Third Times A Charm

I made Sadie's costume over because it was going to be less work than unpicking everywhere and fixing it. Unfortunately, when i remade it the second time, it looked much better than the first, but turned out exactly the same size. Jeramy said that it's ok that it was the wrong size because the ASU cheer costumes are ACTUALLY yellow with the maroon being the accent color. So, I had been making them wrong anyway.

Undeterred and seriously determined to not have all that work gone to waste, I sat down and measured and drew a new pattern for a new BETTER costume and I made it on Friday. I'm happy to say that it fits her great with a little room to spare for the month of growing between now and Halloween. I'll wait to post pictures of her in it when Halloween gets here.

(The skirt is actually in a straight line and very symmetrical, but I took the picture from the side and flipped it, that's why it looks crooked!)

Sadie's Halloween Costume

I have spent the past several weeks searching on line for an ASU infant cheerleader costume or pattern to sew one and have been unsucessful. (Not entirely, I found one that cost $35 and I wasn't about to spend that on her costume.) So today I finally decided to make my own. I bought a $4 sheet at Walmart and some white and gold ribbon and all day I sewed. It came out really cute, but I still have to make some adjustments to the bodice length and the waist because it barely fits over her diaper. I can handle that though. I'm so happy with how it turned out. And, if you're wondering why the pictures are all blurry, this time it's not my fault. The stinker refused to hold still long enough to take her picture!

I won!

I entered a blog giveaway (I always enter giveaways whenever I hear about them) but I never expect to win anything, but today I did! I get this super cute blouse! Stephanie, the blog's author, is an accomplished seamstress and she also makes and sells really cute dresses (something I've been obsessed with lately). Check out her blog HERE.
