Sadie is 2!

Sadie has been really sick the last couple weeks, so her birthday wasn't as fun as I had hoped to make it. But, she got a chocolate cake with pink frosting and brown polka-dots.

And Grandma gave Sadie princess dress-up clothes and she has been clomping around in those cute heels for 2 days now!

Camping with the Johnson's

We went camping a couple weekends ago with some of our family friends. It was a blast!

We got extremely dirty.

Threw some tantrums.

And enjoyed the outdoors.

Super Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream/Custard

Sunday night at my mother-in-law's home, we had homemade ice cream. It was so creamy and yummy that it almost tasted like custard. We are out of ice cream and had amazing peach cobbler (if you'll allow me to brag on that for a moment) for Family Home Evening last night. So, I got the recipe (thanks Bonnie!) and made it tonight and it is delish! I had to pass on the recipe so that you can all enjoy it too:

Super Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream:

1/2 c. heavy whipping cream
2 1/2 c. half and half (you can use all half and half if you want)
1/2 package instant Jello Vanilla pudding
1/3-1/2 c. powdered sugar (more or less depending on your taste)

Mix altogether, adding instant pudding last and dissolve really well, with a wire whip. Pour into ice cream freezer and freeze until firm. You can double it too--or triple. Add a little vanilla if you want more vanilla flavor.

*Bonnie made it in a little Cuisinart electric one that doesn't use ice but you can use this in an ice one.

I doubled it and made it in my big ice/salt/super-old ice cream maker and it made quite a bit. Enjoy!!
